Recover your Truth Social account if you can't log in

If you're having trouble logging into your Truth Social account, here are some things you can try.

Try to recover your Truth Social account using the Find Your Account page

1.      Go to the Find Your Account page at TruthSocial.com/login/identify and follow the instructions. Make sure to use a computer or mobile phone that you have previously used to log into your Truth Social account.

2.     Search for the account you want to recover. You can search for your account by name, email address, or phone number.

3.     Follow the on-screen steps to reset the password for your account.

Try to recover your Truth Social account from a friend's or family member’s account

1.      From a computer, go to the profile of the account you'd like to recover.

2.     Click "..." below the cover photo.

3.     Select Find Support or Report profile.

4.    Choose Something Else, then click Next.

5.     Click Recover this account and follow the steps.

Try to change or reset your password

Change Your Password

To change your password on Truth Social if you're already logged in:

1.      Click your profile picture in the top right of Truth Social.

2.     Select Settings.

3.     Go to Security.

4.    Click Change password.

5.     Enter your current password and new password.

6.    Click Save Changes.

If you're logged in but have forgotten your password, follow the steps under Change Your Password, then click "Forgot your password?" and follow the steps to reset it.

Keep in mind that you'll need access to the email associated with your account.

To reset your password if you're not logged in to Truth Social:

1.      Go to the Truth Social Login Page. Click the "Trouble logging in?" option.

2.     Type the email or username associated with your account, then click Reset Password.

3.     Follow the on-screen instructions.

For security reasons, you won’t be able to use the same mobile phone number that you use for two-factor authentication to help you reset your password.

You’ll need to have a different mobile phone number or email address added to your account to reset your password if you ever need to.

Use an alternate email or phone number to log in

You may be able to get back into your Truth Social account by using an alternate email or mobile phone number listed on your account.

If you don't know what alternate information you have:

Why is my account disabled?

We disable Truth Social accounts that might not follow the Truth Social Terms. Some examples include:

  • Truthing content that doesn't follow the Truth Social Terms.
  • Using a fake name.
  • Impersonating someone.
  • Continuing behavior that's not allowed on Truth Social and goes against our Community Standards.
  • Contacting other people for the purpose of harassment, advertising, promotion, or other conduct is not allowed.

What can I do if my account has been disabled?

Keep in mind that in some cases, we may not issue a warning before disabling your account.

We also can't restore accounts that were disabled for severe violations.

This information is for people who are asked to confirm their identity by getting a phone or email code when they try to log into Truth Social.

We ask you to do a security check if we think your account's security might have been affected.

If you're having trouble receiving codes to your phone or email address, here are some things you can try:

  • Sometimes the confirmation codes may take longer to arrive. If you’ve requested several codes already, wait a day before trying again.
  • Make sure that you're checking the correct phone number or email address for the codes.
  • If you requested to get a code on your phone, and you don't see it, check the blocked messages on your phone. Your phone may be screening or blocking confirmation code texts.
  • Check your phone's network connection. A poor network connection may be the reason you’re not receiving a code.
  • Check to make sure your phone has enough space to receive an SMS confirmation text.
  • Try restarting your phone.
  • Contact your carrier to check your mobile plan. Sometimes your mobile plan may affect the type of messages you can receive. Ask your carrier what kind of message your current plan allows you to receive.

Unable to find Truth Social account from the "Find Your Account" page

If you're having trouble logging into your account from the Find Your Account page, try these tips:

  • Try entering each email or mobile phone number you've owned (one at a time). You may have added an old email or mobile number to your account and need to remember about it.
  • Try entering variations of your name in case you signed up using a nickname.
  • Enter your username, if you've created one. Your username is your personalized Truth Social URL:

If you don't know your username, ask a friend to go to your profile and send you the username in the URL.

  • Ask one of your Truth Social friends to look at the About section of your profile and send you the email or mobile phone number listed in the Contact Information section.
  • If you're asked to enter a friend's name, try a variety of friends if the first friend you try doesn't locate an account. Remember to enter your friend's full name, not just their first name.

I can't access my Truth Social account because I don't recognize anyone in the photo security check.

This security check is designed to protect you from suspicious logins (such as logins from a different computer or country).

If you have trouble identifying your friends, please wait a few hours and try again.

You can also try logging into your Truth Social account from another device you've used before.

I have to enter a security code every time I log into Truth Social.

When you're using two-factor authentication or getting alerts about logins we don't recognize, we need to be able to remember your computer and web browser information so we can recognize it the next time you try logging in.

Some web browser features block this.

If you turn on private browsing or set up your browser to clear your history every time it closes, you might have to enter a security code every time you log in. 

If your web browser includes private browsing or incognito mode, using it to access Truth Social will usually cause this to happen after closing your browser window.

Please check your email's spam or junk folder for the email with a password reset link.

To keep your account safe, we only let you request a new password a certain number of times each day.
